Jim and Nancy Swickard have been passionate about Mexico for over 40 years. Jim made his first trip from Illinois in 1954. The people, the countryside, the colors, the food and the music have burned themselves into their souls. After years of traveling the beaches and mountains of Mexico they found their Mecca in Alamos. In 1989 they purchased the 300 year old Hacienda and renovation became their obsession. They devoured books on Spanish Colonial design and architecture. It was, and still is a labor of love for them, their daughter Jamie, her husband Ramon and the entire Hacienda staff. Their devotion to details make the Hacienda a true taste of Old Mexico and a sumptuous hideaway. They are ready to welcome you with open arms into their dream and hope it will become yours as well.

Guests come to the Hacienda to rejuvenate and relax in an atmosphere of casual elegance, where new friendships are easily made. A sophisticated getaway that gives one the feeling of owning their own personal Hacienda.

Hacienda de los Santos is located just 2 blocks from the main plaza, mercado and cathedral in Alamos. It is possible to stroll along the cobblestone streets and explore this Spanish Colonial gem on foot.

Housed in the Hacienda is a collection of religious art spanning four centuries, including Santos, Retablos and Ex-Votos. Adorning the rooms are antique Spanish Colonial furnishings. Each room is uniquely appointed. All rooms have wood burning fireplaces adding to the romantic experience of the Hacienda.

Nightlife is pleasant at the Hacienda and may include relaxing on one of the many portals, where most evenings a group of young Mexican men sing romantic ballads. One may also enjoy movies in the theater/conference room, or lectures on the architecture, history and ecosystem of the area. Another favorite is browsing the Haciendas extensive library. You may wish to end your day enjoying the star filled skies from above the Hacienda in the Mirador. There, you can gaze upon the spectacular and mysterious Sierra Madre Mountains while you enjoy the hospitality of the Hacienda de los Santos.

Margaritas and other favorite beverages may be enjoyed in our revolutionary era cantina. Outside the Hacienda walls you will find Mariachis, and the sweet life of a true small Mexican village at its best.

There are many intimate locations within the walls of the Hacienda for the perfect wedding. Our expert staff can assist in arrangements. Up to 200 guests may be accommodated for the reception.

The Hacienda has earned a reputation as a magnificent location for corporate retreats. With few distractions, business can be accomplished quickly, leaving plenty of time for your favorite activities and relaxation.

Summertime in Sonora is exquisitely beautiful, with the monsoon rains. The hillsides and mountains turn a luscious shade of green during this most beautiful season of the year. All bedrooms and dining rooms are air-conditioned.

Due to the romantic ambiance, the Hacienda caters to adults only. All bedrooms are non-smoking, and no pets are allowed.
